“This place has turned my life around, without the staff and people at The Winchester Beacon I reckon I would be dead by now.”

These are the honest words of Howard who became homeless after losing his job and subsequently falling behind on his rent. During his stay at The Winchester Beacon we were able to give him one-to-one support to help him to pay off his debts and find suitable long-term accommodation.

Howard is pictured on the doorstep of his new flat which he moved into a few months ago. He continues to meet regularly with his support worker. Together they are working hard to ensure that he finds a way to manage his bills and paperwork to prevent the risk of a return to homelessness.

Together we can help more people like Howard. We can provide hope that things can get better, show that life is worth living and that new beginnings can be created with a little help from those who care.

Today is #WorldHomelessDay, please consider making it the day that you decide to make a one-off or regular donation to support our work and people like Howard. Donate online here or simply text BEACON and any amount up to £20 to 70560 (Texts will cost the donation amount plus one standard text message).
