The Winchester Beacon and Trinity Winchester were presented with a cheque for £3,504.68 last week to support the charities’ work supporting people experiencing homelessness.

The money was raised through the city’s Spare Change for Lasting Change diverted giving scheme. Run by Winchester BID and Winchester City Council, Spare Change for Lasting Change provides people with the opportunity to donate money via collection boxes placed in cafes, restaurants and shops across the city. Additional funds are also raised at events including the festive Snow Globe. The scheme is way for people to feel confident that their donation will go to helping people to rebuild their lives and escape homelessness.

The cheque was presented at the Hampshire Chamber of Commerce and Winchester BID Meet the MP event for local businesses with Steve Brine MP at The Winchester Royal Hotel.
