An evening of connection, inspiration and recognition for the community supporting our vital work.
On Thursday 15th October, we were delighted to welcome supporters and people interested in learning more about The Winchester Beacon to our Supporters’ Evening at The Arc in Winchester.
It was a wonderful opportunity to bring our community together, share more about our work and celebrate the difference we can make when we work together to support people experiencing homelessness.
The evening included an introduction from our Chief Executive, Robyn Kohler, and an update from our Chair of Trustees, Vicky Hemmings, who shared updates about the charity’s work and development.
After the event, Robyn Kohler, CEO, commented:
Every day at The Winchester Beacon, we witness the difference that the kindness of our community and supporters can have on the lives of our residents. Tonight, we wanted to say thank you to those people who so loyally support our work through volunteering, donations, fundraising and so much more. Together, we are enabling people to transform their lives.
Words of current and former residents were also read aloud by supporters providing an invaluable insight into the experiences of those facing homelessness and the help available to them at The Beacon.
Supporters from across the community were invited to talk about their involvement with the charity highlighting the many different ways that people can help to make a difference. Some of our youngest fundraisers were also invited to the stage in recognition of their inspiring contribution with the presentation of certificates by Deputy Lieutenant, Ms Amelia Riviere.
Thank you for being part of our community
We would like to thank everyone who joined us for the evening, as well as to all those who support The Winchester Beacon throughout the year.
