A group of University of Southampton students who are passionate about making a positive difference to their local community have shown their support for our residents.

Wonky Bowl is a social enterprise set up by the students to tackle two issues – food waste and hunger. The students are committed to giving their time to turn surplus food into meals for vulnerable people in the community. Many of the food donations come from individuals or local organisations and often include wonky vegetables which is behind the inspiration for the name.

The students have kindly made packed lunches for residents at The Winchester Beacon which they have dropped off on several occasions including on Good Friday.

Robyn Kohler, our CEO, commented:

“It is heartwarming to see our next generation so motivated to give their ideas and time to support people in need in our community. It brings a real sense of hope for the future of the charity sector to see such bright minds determined to create change. Thank you so much for the support Wonky Bowl, keep up the amazing work!”
