We are always keen to discover new opportunities that might benefit our residents on their journey out of homelessness. A number of residents recently had the chance to get involved with a fantastic organisation called, Bear Face Theatre.

Through their inclusive and innovative approach to creative arts, Bear Face Theatre strives to affect positive social change for people who are often living on the margins of society.

Our residents participated in their Community Creating Change workshops which focus on aiding positive progression and helping people to feel more emotionally healthy. Our Support Worker accompanied the residents along to the first session to help them to overcome their nerves. When she returned to see them at the last session, it was clear that the nerves were a distant memory.

One of the residents commented on the experience: “It brought me out of my shell to meet new people and express my feelings of mixed emotions to people in similar circumstances”.

Do you run an activity or programme which might help our residents rebuild themselves and escape homelessness? If you think you might be able to help, email admin@winchesterbeacon.org.uk
