This Christmas, we have collaborated with the local artist, Jo-Anne Burgess of Green Magpie, to produce two stunning Christmas cards, now available to buy on our website.

Jo-Anne is a talented illustrator specialising in cut paper collage. She has used her skills to create two unique festive designs to raise funds for The Winchester Beacon. One card features Winchester’s medieval Kingsgate. The other is a reminder of the home so many of our residents will be wishing for this Christmas.

“Places are important, and none more so than home. Everyone needs a place to call home” explains Jo-Anne.

The important work that The Winchester Beacon does to help end homelessness requires a community of support. It is inspiring to see so many individuals, families and businesses contribute their time and skills to help others.

“I illustrate portraits of people’s homes for a living. I get to see all shapes and sizes of houses but the essence of home is familiarity, comfort and belonging.

“Being able to use my creativity to assist The Winchester Beacon with their Christmas card campaign feels like a natural way to offer my support to this incredible charity.”

The cards are available to pre-order online now for delivery or collection. The cards are priced at £5 for a pack of 10 cards with all profits going towards our vital work supporting people experiencing homelessness.

We are excited that the Kingsgate collage also features on the front cover of the latest issue of Winchester Magazine. Head over to Jo-Anne’s website to discover more about her amazing creations and workshops.
