Winchester-based Gentian Developments aims to positively impact people’s lives. As a commitment to this, they have announced financial support for three local charities which include The Winchester Beacon. Each charity will receive £3,000 per year for the next two years from Gentian.
The charities were chosen because of the invaluable services they provide to the Winchester community. As well as supporting The Winchester Beacon, the company will be helping Winchester Young Carers’ and Move Momentum. Gentian hopes the money can cover some of the core costs of the charities. Enabling the charities to deliver support to more people in Winchester.
The company has an ongoing commitment to supporting local community groups having previously supported Winchester Rugby Football Club and Hampshire Pride.
Managing Director of Gentian, Nick Ekins said: “Following our significant investment in Winchester’s High Street, we wanted to ensure we also gave back to the local community. We hope our financial support will enable these charities to continue their vital work for people in Winchester.”
Chief Executive of The Winchester Beacon, Michèle Price commented: “We are extremely grateful for the support of Gentian Developments particularly as their help comes at a time when our running costs are rising. Their funding will certainly help us to continue our vital support for people experiencing homelessness.”
Gentian is headquartered at the top of Winchester High Street in Trafalgar House. They have investments across the UK and have made a significant investment in Winchester. In the past year Gentian has purchased four retail properties on the High Street. They have an ongoing commitment and confidence in the City’s retail offering and future.
