Our vital work is supported by our community of over 150 volunteers. Each volunteer gives their time and skills to help with the smooth running of our charity supporting staff to ensure we are open for those who need us 365 days and nights a year.

Peter volunteers his time whenever he can to serve dinner to the ten people staying at our main site on Jewry Street. Each of our volunteers has their own personal reason for volunteering with us. When chatting to Peter, he explained why he chooses to help out:

“A toss of a coin and I could so easily be on the other side of this counter. We like to think that our success in life is down to our hard work and determination but in truth so much of it is just luck. I want to help to create a stable present and a hopeful future for those staying at The Beacon.”

Our volunteers bring so much to The Beacon. They are a constant reminder to our residents that there are people who care and wish them well.
