Thank you to everyone who showed kindness and generosity to our residents this Christmas. Thanks to your support, each of our 22 residents had a gift to open on Christmas Day.
Christmas can understandably be a particularly challenging time when experiencing homelessness. It can stir up memories of happier times and highlight the feeling of isolation that homelessness can bring. However, generous donations from individuals, companies and local organisations in the lead up to Christmas helped our residents to feel remembered. There was a gift under the tree for each resident and everyone was invited to Christmas lunch cooked and served by staff and volunteers. Some former residents, who would otherwise have been alone, came along to lunch too.
Our Operations Manager, Hayley Wood, commented: “Thank you to everyone who took the time to show care and support for our residents. We were touched by every knock at the door with donations of gifts, food and money. With Christmas behind us, we are now looking at helping our 22 current residents to reach their goals and find a home of their own in 2025.”
