On Friday 24th January, Winchester Churches Nightshelter and Trinity Winchester were presented with a cheque by Winchester BID and MP Steve Brine. The donation of £4,895 which will be split between the two charities was raised as part of the city’s Spare Change for Lasting Change initiative.
What is Spare Change for Lasting Change?
Spare Change for Lasting Change is a diverted giving scheme led by Winchester BID and Winchester City Council. It is an opportunity for people to donate money to two well-established organisations, Winchester Churches Nightshelter and Trinity Winchester, who are working to make a lasting difference to those experiencing homelessness in the district.

Venues with collection boxes include Barclays, Bell Fine Art, Boots the Chemist, Bus Station Travel Shop, Cathedral Refectory, Chococo, Discovery Centre, Howdens Joinery, Jeremy France Jewellers, Mucky Duck, News Shop, O’Neills, Piecaramba, The Albion, The Exchange, The Rising Sun, Toscanaccio, Travel Bag, Turtle Bay, Warrens, William Walker, Winchester City Council, Winchester Tourist Information Centre.
