Winchester Round Table has shown its ongoing commitment to supporting the local community by giving £2,000 in funding to The Winchester Beacon, helping residents transition into independent living.

The generous support will help to provide essential items for residents as they move from The Winchester Beacon’s accommodation into their own homes. Many individuals leaving the service face starting over with very little, and this funding will help to equip them with key household goods such as bedding, kitchen equipment, furniture and other everyday essentials – ensuring they can settle into their new accommodation with dignity and comfort.

Winchester Round Table, a local group of volunteers dedicated to fundraising and supporting good causes, has a long history of backing community initiatives. Charlie Sell, Chairman of Winchester Round Table spoke about the donation:

“At Winchester Round Table, we’re proud to support The Winchester Beacon because of the incredible work they do every single day of the year to help break the cycle of homelessness. Their holistic approach — offering not just a roof, but counselling, practical advice, and support into employment — makes a real, lasting difference in people’s lives.”

Hayley Wood, Operations Manager at The Winchester Beacon, commented:

“We want our residents to have a strong start in their new homes. We are really grateful for the support from the Winchester Round Table, their funding will touch many lives at a key point in their journey out of homelessness.”

The Winchester Beacon continues to rely on community support to provide life-changing services. Donations like this one help ensure that residents have the best possible chance of moving forward positively and sustainably.
