We are thrilled to announce that, following a public vote in local Tesco stores, the Nightshelter has been awarded the top amount of £4000 in the Tesco Bags of Help community fund!
The vote took place in July and August this year, when the public were asked to support the Nightshelter’s bedroom refurbishment project, which is what the money will be spent on. Our residents’ rooms are in constant use and can get worn very quickly. The funding will allow us to completely refurbish them, with new cupboards, curtains, paint – the works!
Michele Price, Nightshelter Manager, said: “We are so grateful to everyone who voted for us in the Tesco Bags of Help community fund. Securing the funding to refurbish our bedrooms means so much, paticularly to our residents, who regard the Nightshelter as a temporary home during their stay here. We’re looking forward to getting started on the project.”
