On Wednesday 28th September, 6.30pm – 8pm, we are looking forward to gathering with supporters old and new at our annual Supporters’ Evening – Betting on the Future. We will be hosting the event at Winchester College and would love you to join us.
The evening is an opportunity to share news of our work and what we are doing to help people who are experiencing homelessness in Hampshire. We will celebrate this year’s achievements as well as look at our plans for the future.
The event will also focus on the impact gambling can have on the lives of the people we support. We are pleased to be welcoming our guest speaker, Sam Chamberlain, Professor of Psychiatry at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Southampton, and Honorary Consultant Psychiatrist at Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust as our guest speaker. Professor Chamberlain will describe Gambling Disorder, which is a common but often overlooked mental health condition linked to negative outcomes, including a risk of homelessness. He will also introduce the new NHS Southern Gambling Treatment Service, which will offer high quality support and treatment to people affected by Gambling Disorder across the region.
Whether you are a long-term supporter or you have just discovered The Winchester Beacon and you are interested in finding out more about what we do, please come along. You can choose to attend in person at Winchester College or online.
Spaces at the in person event are limited so please reserve your place soon via the link below.
