We would like to thank Archie, Jack, Noah, Sam P and Sam W for their inspiring fundraising efforts.
This group of old school friends successfully ran 110km around the Isle of Wight to raise funds for The Winchester Beacon. It took 17 hours and a lot of perseverance to complete the challenge but they did it! In the process they raised an amazing £3,000 to support our essential work helping people faced with homelessness.
This isn’t the first challenge that the group of friends have taken on. Their love for fitness challenges began with cycling the South Downs Way to raise money to help aid a school in Swaziland.
Archie, whose mum volunteers at The Winchester Beacon, commented: “I really wanted to surprise Mum and donate the money to The Winchester Beacon after seeing her put so much effort into the charity. I did very little training however due to my love of sport I am always active which definitely helped. We were positive the whole way round and as we have all been super close since school we helped push eachother to finish it”.
