Eight-year old Charlotte Furby has been busy making and selling friendship bracelets to raise money to support Winchester Churches Nightshelter (WCNS).
Charlotte is a pupil at St Swithun’s Prep School in Winchester. Every term, pupils at the school create an individual Flourish Target and for the Spring Term – Charlotte chose to focus on contributing to the community.
“It’s not fair for the homeless people because they don’t have warm cosy beds, especially when it’s raining” explains Charlotte. “They might get sick because they have no food. Some people might not have fresh clothes and be able to wash. Some people don’t pay attention to the homeless people or care about them, but I wish we could give them as much as we can. After Covid is over I would like to volunteer at the Nightshelter.”
Charlotte decided to make friendship bands and sell them to raise money. You can visit her fundraising page here.
