A group of final year film production students at the University of Winchester are raising funds to make their end of year production. They have pledged to give back to the city.
Cammy Leung, Erin Mitchell, Jack Kennie, Louis Sargeant and Jack Petrie are grateful that they have been able to call Winchester their home for the last three years. When planning their final year project they decided that they wanted to find a way to give back to the city.
The students are producing a film called ‘My Friend, Lamp’ about a character called Skye, a recent art graduate, who is struggling to find her creative muse. She meets a mysterious creature with whom she goes on a fantastic adventure.
In order to produce the film, the students are trying to raise £2,000 which will help towards the cost of locations, costumes, props, travel, food, accommodation and other resources that will make the film possible.
Student Louis Sargeant, commented:
“This films means a lot to us, and despite not being a University module until January, we have been working on this since June. A big part at the heart of the film is belonging, and that’s something that we have discussed going into the film. As university students, we have been here for nearly 3 years now, and Winchester has become our home away from home. Because of this, we have decided we wanted to give something back wherever possible, and supporting an important local charity seemed more than fitting.”
