Throughout lockdown, the Nightshelter has provided a safe place for people experiencing homelessness to stay ‘home’ 24 hours a day, every day. As lockdown eases, we don’t want this to end just yet. We are determined to keep our extended opening hours for as long as possible so that our residents can continue to be on site 24 hours a day, but we need your help to make this happen.
With many of our residents having lost employment during the crisis and needing to stay on site, we want residents to continue to have the option to stay in the Nightshelter during the day as well as through the night.
Michele Price, Chief Executive of the Nightshelter explains: “Thanks to our volunteers, staff and supporters our residents have been kept safe and been looked after. We need to carry on with our longer opening hours as now is not the time for our residents to be without a place to be in the daytime. We have always been far more than just a Nightshelter. Each resident receives one-to-one support to help them to escape homelessness. Right now, our residents need us to be this whilst continuing to be their home 24/7.”
Through our Stay 24/7 Appeal, we hope to raise the funds to keep our increased hours over coming weeks. Any donation you can make, big or small, will help us to continue our round-the-clock support for people who are currently homeless.
The future is uncertain, please help the Nightshelter to be a certain home for vulnerable people experiencing homelessness.
