#GivingTuesdayNow is a global day of unity in response to Coronavirus. A day where we can all come together to recognise, celebrate and give thanks for the incredible outpouring of compassion we have witnessed during this crisis.
Take a moment to recognise and thank those people who are stepping up and reaching out, continuing to deliver their vital services during these challenging times. These include NHS staff, delivery drivers, supermarket workers, cleaners, postmen and the list goes on.
We would like to take this opportunity to show our heartfelt appreciation for our staff and volunteers who by not staying at home themselves are ensuring our residents do have a place to stay ‘home’. Their loyalty and commitment to helping people experiencing homelessness is the reason we are still able to operate and provide the essential support our residents need. We would also like to thank the local community who have continued to show their support via donations.
On Tuesday 5th May, we are all encouraged to share messages of thanks on social media and in our windows as a tribute to all our key workers. If you have people to thank use the hashtag #GivingTuesdayNow or share their names with a heart in your window. Find out more on the GivingTuesdayNow website.
Our support is perhaps more vital now than ever. Our homes have become our safe place, yet for many this is a luxury they can only imagine. We remain open during the pandemic, being that vital ‘home’ to ten current residents. In fact we have expanded our service so that we are now open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for all residents.
We know times are tough for many people financially but on this global #GivingTuesdayNow we wanted to show a few ways you can give to help those who are experiencing homelessness.
Ways you can give
Sponsor a bed for a night
We are being asked to stay home. This is challenging when you haven’t got somewhere to call home. Help someone to feel safe and secure during these uncertain times and donate just £2 which will pay for one person to stay at the Nightshelter for a night.

Sponsor a bed and more
Donate £10 to cover the cost of not only a bed at the Nightshelter for one night but also a comforting home-cooked evening meal, breakfast and a supply of toiletries.

Sponsor a one-to-one support session
Many of our residents were already vulnerable and experiencing challenging times. The current circumstances are testing our residents further. Sponsor a counselling session as we try to help them to get back on track.
